Meet Sage Craighead
Sage is an artist and maker shaped by the rugged beauty of her Jackson Hole, Wyoming roots. Raised among wide skies, mountain peaks, and four-legged companions, her deep connection to nature and dogs has long guided her creativity.
Her journey began in jewelry, learning metalsmithing at age sixteen under Jeter Case of JC Jewelers in Jackson Hole—where some of her designs are still available today. She later attended Oregon College of Art and Craft, where she deepened her skills and artistic vision.
A few years later, a French bulldog, by the name of Edna Rose, changed everything. Frustrated by the lack of stylish, well-fitting dog gear, Sage picked up a sewing machine and taught herself to sew. What started as custom collars and clothing for her dogs quickly grew into something bigger. She began repurposing old quilts her Mother had collected in Virginia during the late ’70s, transforming them into cozy, one-of-a-kind jackets—and discovering a whole new creative calling.
Now based in Sun Valley, Idaho, Sage focuses on upcycling vintage and reclaimed textiles—whether heirloom quilts, thrifted fabrics, or materials sent in by clients—into unique accessories, garments, and home goods. Every piece honors the fabric’s past while embracing a sustainable, handmade future.
From metals to fabric, dogs to design, Sage’s work is rooted in love—for craft, for the animals she adores, and for the land that raised her.
